Here’s a photo I took of the kids just before we went to grandpa’s house for Thanksgiving. I love this photo…they all look so happy!
Day 333 – More Christmas Cards
November 29, 2010Day 332 – Illustrator Christmas Card
November 28, 2010Day 331 – A Not Very Productive Day!
November 27, 2010Day 330 – The Day After!
November 26, 2010Today started with me getting up at 7:30am(I am NOT a morning pers0n) to run to the store to buy breakfast meats; bacon and two kinds of sausage and I also got yogurt for a nice breakfast for the whole family at my nephew’s house. He and his wife Barbara recently moved into a new home…and wanted to share it for the holiday on the day after Thanksgiving. I LOVED their new home. It has BIG rooms….a wonderful layout and a kitchen to die for! Everything was decorated beautifully and it had fantastic granite counter tops. Andy even has a room upstairs he calls the Man-Cave! “What’s a Man-Cave?”, I hear you asking! I had the same question!!! It was a room that ran the width of the house on one end…and it was totally decorated as a sports/movie room! Big screen TV at one end of the room with two GREAT BIG lounge chairs set side-by-side for watching movies in….or playing video games from. He had alot of sports pictures up and movie posters etc. He even had a Mr/Mrs Potato Head collection that is fantastic. And they aren’t just your plain Jane Mr. Potato Head. They all are themed. He has Star Wars Mr. Potato heads in Lea, Luke, Darth Vader and some other evil Star Wars character that I cannot remember. He has an Iron Man Mr. Potato Head….and an Indiana Jones one too! They were SO cute. Tonight I am just relaxing….watching football on TV with Tony and we even built a fire in the fireplace. Nice way to relax and end our day.
Day 329 – So Thankful!
November 25, 2010I have so much to be thankful for. I have a loving partner in Tony…..two beautful children. A wonderful son-in-law and daughter-in-law that I love very much…and one super-fantastic grandchild Preston! I am also thankful for the two new grandchildren that are on their way(in the oven so to speak). Amy is due mid-June and Chrissie a month later! I am so excited about that! Can’t wait to meet my new grand-children! I am also thankful for having a good job…one that I really enjoy going to as well. Here are a couple of pictures taken today during Thanksgiving. My niece Amy is a Master Decorator!!!
Day 328 – Happy Thanksgiving(a little early)
November 24, 2010Day 327 – It’s Dark and Icky Outside
November 23, 2010Well….today it is raining and just icky outside. Puts me in a depressed mood. I love sunshine! I wish I could stay home from work and have a fire in the fireplace. Only thing is here in California you have to check with the Air Pollution Control Website to see if you can burn or not. I hate that! It’s hard to see, but there are raindrops hitting the surface of the water in the pool. Click to enlarge photo.
Day 326 – Another Christmas Card
November 22, 2010I made another Christmas card today. I only made the one today because I got up late! And, I made lunch for Tony and I, and then I played on the computer with Illustrator and a new lesson I purchased at ReneePearson.com called Holly Shop. It’s a self paced 1 and 1/2 hr set of video lessons to make 3 Christmas cards in Illustrator. It has multiple lessons….but it’s going to take a lot longer than 1 1/2 hrs. because I have to start and stop the videos in order to keep up with the pace. Laura Coyle is the instructor and she is very good!
Here’s my card for today’s pic.
Day 325 – Christmas Cards
November 21, 2010Day 324 – Lemon Bread
November 20, 2010The craft book I bought yesterday had crafts and even some recipes. I am trying out a new recipe for Lemon Bread. Here’s the recipe:
1 3/4 cup flour 3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil 2 tbsp. shredded lemon peel(1 lemon)
3 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. sugar
Mix first 4 dry ingredients and make well in the center. In separate bowl, mix egg, milk, oil and 1 tbsp. of the lemon juice. Pour wet mixture into well in center of dry mixture and mix until moist(stir as little as possible-may be lumpy). Fold in lemon peel. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes in loaf pan lined with parchment paper. Mix remaining lemon juice with 1 tbsp. sugar. Brush on bread while warm. I used coated baking pans; I did not use the parchment paper. I also sprayed PAM in the pans. Next time I would do the same, but flour the pans after using the PAM. I also used a mini loaf pan and a medium-sized loaf pan instead of a larger one.
Day 323 – A New Craft Book
November 19, 2010Day 322 – Done!
November 18, 2010I finished all 10 coloring books today! Yay! Each coloring book has around 50 pages. Most are coloring pages…..some are mazes, find-a-word pages, and dot-to-dot pages. Each one starts with coloring pages for Thanksgiving. Turkey’s and Pilgrims. Then there are other pages with pirates, Mickey Mouse characters, Disney Characters and characters like Buzz Lightyear or Thomas the Train. There are even some with dinosaurs. I hope the kids like them!
