Well….today has been a nice day so far….I emptied the jacuzzi….and refilled it with fresh clean water. I also spent a couple of hours on the patio….planting some pretty flowers in my patio pots. I called my boss Ronn to make sure he knew I was coming back to work tomorrow….he said for these next 3 days…I could work during the day shift since I need to complete my mandatory coverages that I’ve missed. I have lots of them to complete…and also I’ll need to reset my passwords as they’ll all be expired. So I’m only working Wed., Thurs., and Friday, then I’m taking 2 weeks of vacation because Amy is scheduled to be delivered on June 8th.(Then I will return to work on my normal schedule.)
We had a wonderful baby shower for Chrissie at Amy and Carol’s house…hosted by Amy and Barbara and lots of help from Carol too! Here is a picture of Chrissie and the crib that I refinished. I also made the baby bumpers that are lining the sides walls of the crib. The changing table that Melaie gave Chrissie is off to the left. It turned out pretty good too. CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO
This is the baby changing table that Chrissie’s cousin Melanie gave to her. I also refinished this to match the crib.
Here’s a closer look at the bumpers.
I’m taking a class at www.BigPictureScrapbooking.com called Photo Finish. We are learning about actions…..which I have a little bit of experience with from classes I’ve taken at www.jessicasprague.com Anyway….the action applied to this photo of Preston is from Pioneer Woman. It’s the PWActionSet2 “Colorize” Action. In case you don’t know what an action is….it’s a set of instructions….kind of like scripts….that run different things like filters and such on your photo. So if you want to take a load of pictures and turn them all into black and white….and resize them, you could do each one individually and it would take a long time. With an action, you can open your photo….and select the action and hit the play button and it will perform all the functions in a row automatically. Then you just need to save the changes. This photo of Preston was one that Johnny and Amy took a year or so ago. I absolutely love this photo! I had originally edited the photo to remove the hand over Preston’s head and then resaved. Then I opened that photo and ran the action. Finally I added a very faint oval vignette to the outside edges. CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO
I was “Stumbling” today and found this video…it is the cutest thing ever!
My two nieces are giving my daughter a baby shower on May 28th. Amy, my niece, asked if I would make a diaper cake for the shower. The theme is RETRO and the colors are red and several shades of blue. I found these cute, cute wooden animals at a hobby store. I had originally thought I wanted a small wooden train set….or small wooden cars….but I could not find any that weren’t too big. Then I found these and just thought they were perfect. There are 101 newborn diapers on this diaper cake. CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO
I went to see my surgeon today and he wants me off work another 3 weeks. Approved to go back on June 1st now. Doctor says I need to exercise my left leg lots and just get stronger. I am still limping slightly and he says that’s all a muscle issue. He took an ex-ray too….and says that looks good.
Tomorrow I go back to see my surgeon and he will tell me if I am going back to work lite duty or unrestricted. I’m not sure I’m ready to go back unrestricted…..I do not have the stamina that I had before the surgery. I’m getting there….but it’s a slow road. We’ll see what the doctor says. I was at the physical therapist today and she is going to forward over to the doctor her report on my progress.
