I bought a craft book the other day at JoAnn’s and I found a pretty card with instructions on how to make this card. Here is a photo of the card from the book.
The directions called for you to apply white and blending shades of blue to the outside…then spritz it with water to bring out the speckled look in the ink. The spritzing part didn’t work too well on my card…so I took a blunt ended paint brush and dipped it in white craft paint and ran my fingers across the end of the brush to flick the white paint onto the blue/white background.
Then I cut this to 5.25 in x 4 in. and taped it to a piece of craft cardstock to give it some thickness. I then started stamping trees in varying shades of blue and white.
And VOILA! My finished card. I took a picture of it on my palm tree…then in another tree with the branch sticking out in front of the card.
I really needed more than the 3 stamps I used….and taller ones to make this look a little better…like the book photo. But I am pleased with my attempt to recreate that card.
