Day 90 – Midnight Snack

March 31, 2010

I had breakfast this morning around 11 am…then went to work at 4pm….and worked until 10pm when I had an apple and 2 cheese sticks.  When I got home I was so hungry I made a batch of popcorn.  Yum Yum.

Tony foot has been getting more purple and bruised.  Here’s a picture I just took.  He even has a line along the side of his foot that is purple.

Day 89 – Replanting My Patio Pots

March 30, 2010

Here are some before and after pictures of the pots on my patio that have flowers in them.  I pulled out all the old and dying parts and planted new fresh plants in the pots.

Day 88 – Battered and Bruised

March 29, 2010

Well just bruised really.  Tony was at work yesterday stacking 2 liter soda bottles when one of the bottles started to fall from shoulder height.  You know that reaction when something is falling like a jar of mayonnaise….you want to stick out your foot to break the fall?   Big mistake.  The bottle landed cap first on top of Tony’s foot.  OUCH!

Day 87 – Martha Stewart

March 28, 2010

Tony and I went to Borders Books with our 40% off coupons and I found a Martha Stewart Craft Encyclopedia.  I went to the counter to pay for it and I noticed the paper cover had a big scratch in it.  So I ran back and got another one.  Actually Tony ran back and got another one.  That paper cover was dirty….so I paid for the book….and told the lady I would go back and get another one off the shelf….3rd times the charm right?  The funny….no weird thing is, after I bought it I was flipping through the pages on the way home while Tony was driving and I got to a page where one of the corners was turned down.  I looked down at the page and noticed that there were about 20 pages MISSING!  Torn right out of the book!  I couldn’t believe it!  When I closed the book up….there was a noticeable gap in 2 places….so I opened up the book at the 2nd gap and found another bunch of pages torn right out of the book!!!  Who would do that?!!!  When we got home it was time for me to leave for work, so Tony offered to take the book back and get another one.  He got the very last one off the shelf….and this one is perfect!  Yay!

Day 86 – My House

March 27, 2010

The weather here really is just beautiful right now….Spring has sprung and the trees and flowers are blooming.  It is so wonderful….I just love Spring!  Here is the front of my house….I haven’t turned on the automatic sprinklers yet…I had them turned off during the winter….and so I was outside today watering the yard by hand….enjoying the wonderful day.

This big tree keeps it’s leaves all through winter…and at this time of the year, the old leaves are falling off as the new leaves grow in and replace them.  It’s neat because during the winter….my house is the only one around that has leaves on it’s trees.  This tree is never completely bare of leaves.  I have no idea what kind of tree it is though.

This is a Tea Rose bush that has gotten quite big actually.

And my red rose bush is blooming too.  I also have the prettiest lavender rose bush….that bush only has buds on it right now. I will post some pictures of those flowers in a few days when they bloom.

Day 85 – My Fruit Trees Are Blooming

March 26, 2010

It’s time to start watering the trees and bushes outside…and while I was doing that today I see that my lemon, orange and lime tree are starting to blossom.  Yeah!

Day 84 – Card

March 25, 2010

I bought some crackle craft paint a couple weeks ago and painted the background red color.  I think I should have put the paint on thicker…..to give it a better crackle look.  I will try that next time I use it.

Day 83 – I Cooked!

March 24, 2010

I got tired of sandwiches for lunch!  I ran up to the store and bought some chicken breasts and macaroni and came home and made macaroni salad and chicken strips(fried in olive oil).  I also fixed baked beans and a salad for me.  Tony doesn’t like salad.  It was YUMMY!

Day 82 – A Card I Made

March 23, 2010

I bought a craft book the other day at JoAnn’s and I found a pretty card with instructions on how to make this card.   Here is a photo of the card from the book.

The directions called for you to apply white and blending shades of blue to the outside…then spritz it with water to bring out the speckled look in the ink.  The spritzing part didn’t work too well on my card…so I took a blunt ended paint brush and dipped it in white craft paint and ran my fingers across the end of the brush to flick the white paint onto the blue/white background.

Then I cut this to 5.25 in x 4  in. and taped it to a piece of craft cardstock to give it some thickness.  I then started stamping trees in varying shades of blue and white.

And VOILA!  My finished card.  I took a picture of it on my palm tree…then in another tree with the branch sticking out in front of the card.

I really needed more than the 3 stamps I used….and taller ones to make this look a little better…like the book photo.  But I am pleased with my attempt to recreate that card.

Day 81 – A Jenny Lind Crib

March 22, 2010

Tony has a crib that he had for his kids from a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away!  We are going to clean it up….give it a new coat of paint and Chrissie and Zach will have a crib for the baby when it arrives in November.  Can’t wait to start fixing it up!  I am going to order some new parts…or maybe just the part that is missing from a website I found on the Internet.  I sent them this picture of the parts so they could tell who the manufacturer is….I always thought Jenny Lind WAS the manufacturer, but it is the design style. Who knew?!

Day 80 – Haircut

March 21, 2010

The weather has been so warm here lately and my hair was getting to be uncomfortable on my neck, so I had my hairdresser cut my hair shorter.  It feels so much better! This is not a very flattering picture…I’ll post one later of what it looks like when it’s not all wet!

Day 79 – A Beautiful Evening

March 20, 2010

I went to work this afternoon when the daytime temperatures were in the 70’s….and I never even had to put on a sweater tonight.  A little after midnight when I was on my way home…I was surprised at the temperature….57 degrees F!  I think we jumped right from winter to almost summer temps.

Day 78 – A LO of My Daughter

March 19, 2010

For some reason my post for yesterday(3-18) that I posted after midnight, showed up as being posted on the 17th…when I actually posted it on the 18th.  So I had to go into the setup and adjust the clock for this website.  So I actually did post on the 18th…it just shows up that I posted twice on the 17th.

Ok…I made this LO using the same pictures I posted a few days ago…got the template from my DYL class.

Day 77 – Spring Has Sprung

March 17, 2010

I can’t take credit for the design of this LO…it was a digital template I got in week 11 of my Design Your Life class.  Pictures are from my backyard flowers.  The font in the big title is Arial…however I added a flower brush to the ends of some of the letters to give the font a different look.

Day 76 – A Birthday Card

March 17, 2010

I made this card for Burke, Tony’s son. It’s his birthday on the 19th.  I used the Cricut cartridge Celebrations for the cupcake…and stamped the background of the card with the words Happy Birthday!
