Day 365 – Wow…Can’t believe I Made it A Whole Year!!

Getting up in the morning, going to AAA to pay my car registration….then to the movie with my friend/co-worker Kelly to see Black Swan and then to lunch afterwards.  Will try to post a picture later today.  BTW…can’t believe I made it a whole year on this 365 project/blog!  Yay!  Only missed posting 2 days!

Day 364 – Another Submission!

I sent in another submission to the Cricut magazine….for the June/July issue.  It’s the 3 Disney centerpieces I made for Preston’s 1st birthday party. Wish me luck!!

Day 363 – A New Haircut

I decided to get a haircut for the New Year!  I was getting tired of my longer hair.  I really like the new cut.  I also had my nails done today and had a pedicure.  Now I just want to take a nap….but I have to get ready for work! lol

Day 362 – Taco Soup

Tony fixed this soup today….it’s kind of a tortilla soup….without the tortillas.  We put it over Fritos.  It’s a cold rainy day today…so this is nice to warm from the inside out!

 

Day 361 – 4 More Days Left

There are only 4 more days left to 2010.  I have only missed 2 days where I didn’t post this year.  I really wanted to post every day…but I still feel pretty good about only missing 2 days.  Here’s a picture of me and Santa Claus on Christmas Eve!

Day 360 – The Day After!

Wow…..I’m tired!  The hustle and bustle of the holiday season are over now and I am just exhausted! lol  I haven’t done a thing today and it feels great! lol  Here is a picture I took Christmas Eve.  We went to my nephew’s house for Christmas Eve…he and his wife have a beautiful new home.  Santa stopped by to see the children…..Preston wasn’t too keen on getting close to Santa…so he is not in the picture.

Day 358 – Happy Christmas Eve!

I have the next 3 days off….YAY!  Today was a busy day.  Got up at 10 am….vaccuumed the house…mopped…colored my hair…went to the grocery store….made my appetizer for the party we went to…..went to the party and had a WONDERFUL time!  And guess what….SANTA came to the house!  It was so fun.  We had great food….and we had our Christmas ceremony.  We even found time for some BREAK DANCING….at least my grandson Preston did!!!

Day 357 – T Minus 2 Days….Well Maybe 1 1/2!!

I think I’m almost….mind you almost ready for Christmas.  Gifts have been purchased, and packages have been wrapped.  Now I just need to go to the grocery store tomorrow and get food for Christmas dinner and a party I’m going to tomorrow evening…our annual Christmas ceremony.  Can’t wait for Christmas! I didn’t put out a lot of my Christmas decorations…I just didn’t have time or the inclinations to dig it all out!  Here are some of the decorations we did put out and our Christmas tree with all the packages wrapped up for the kids.

Day 356 – Help Fresno Win 1 Million $$$!

Walmart is giving 1 million dollars to fight hunger to the city who gets the most “LIKES” on Facebook.  You can go here to vote http://fightinghunger.walmart.com/  ….but please vote for Fresno.  We have a high unemployment rate in Fresno…around 16% I think it is right now.  You have to be a Facebook member to vote I believe…so if you are….get on over and help us win.  We are in 1st place right now…and voting ends soon.

Day 355 – OoPs!!! Missed Another Day!

Wow, yesterday was busy!  I got up at 7 a.m.  starting baking lemon bread for my office….started Christmas shopping by 10 a.m., then called my daughter around 10:30 to see if she wanted to meet me for shopping.  She was just going to a doctor appointment and said…why don’t we have lunch first.  So after her doctor appointment she called me and at that time I was at Michael’s craft store….and the checkout line was 20 deep.  It actually went pretty fast.  We met at the Cheesecake Factory, had lunch and then we went to buy her Christmas present….I had promised to buy her a new winter coat.  Finished that up at 2:30….drove home…unloaded all the Christmas presents…and reloaded the car with my work tools.  Then changed my clothes and off to work.  When I got home at 12:30 a.m…..I started cooking again….this time it was pumpkin bread!  Didn’t get to bed until after 3:30 a.m.  Wow am I tired.  I had my alarm set for 10 a.m. because this morning I was invited to a luncheon/tea party at 11:30 a.m.  I am taking 2 of the loaves of bread I made….one each of lemon and pumpkin for the hostess.  Don’t know if I will get a picture posted today….but just imagine a picture of a beautifully decorated home at Christmas time in Better Homes and Gardens….and you might be close!

On a sad note….I just remembered that today December 21st, 1973 is the day my father died.  Seems a lifetime ago.  Miss both my parents…wish they could have seen how I grew up and see their wonderful grandchildren/great grandchild.

Day 353 – Funny Lemon!

The other day we picked lemons off the tree and when I went to wash the lemons…I found this funny lemon.  It had a ridge right down the length of it.  It was so odd I just had to take a picture of it.  I wanted to put little googly eyes on it because to me….the ridge almost makes it look like a helmet.  Or a part in a hairline.

Day 352 – Wrapping Things Up!

Today I wrapped up Christmas presents.  These are Preston’s presents.  He was so cute when I spoke to him on the phone yesterday.  He hasn’t figured out that when I call him on the phone….I can’t see him and visa versa.  Sometimes he’ll say…”Watch this Grandma!”.  It is so cute.  Anyway…last night I called and he said…”I wanna see Christmas tree.”   We had a video chat the weekend before and I showed him my Christmas tree at that time.  So I said that I was at work and he couldn’t see it right now.  I told him I had a bunch of presents to wrap up and put on the tree today for him.  He said….”You buy me Thomas?!!!”  I just cracked up….because that’s about ALL we bought for him.  I said, “I can’t tell you baby…it’s a surprise!”  He asked again, “You buy me Thomas?”  I again said, you have to wait for Christmas to find out ….half the fun of Christmas is the anticipation…like he’d understand that word! lol  Anyway…he asked me the same question 5 times…..each time I answered the same but in a different way.  By the time I finished my little conversation…I had tears of laughter rolling down my face.  I just LOVE that little guy!   So anyway…here are his presents all wrapped up and ready to go under the Christmas tree!  And yes Preston….Grandma bought you Thomas!

Day 351 – Christmas Lights at Night.

Running late today…I went to lunch with a co-worker and another co-worker who retired some time ago.  None of us had been to Hooters before….it was alright.  I had clam chower and 1/2  a Cobb salad(my friend had the same so we split the salad).  The soup was great!  The Cobb salad was disappointing.  I expected big pieces of hard boiled egg…lots of crushed cooked bacon, etc.  It had romaine lettuce only(I expected some Iceburg lettuce too), tomatoes cut up small….little bacon…and I think I got about 3 slivers of egg.  I will not order that again from there. 

Then I came home and had to get my Norton 360 renewed on my laptop.  Back in August we had a 3 computer license…and I had 2 separate accounts with Norton that I wanted consolidated into one account(makes it so much easier at renewal time).  So when the antivirus on my laptop(that was installed when I purchased it) ran out…I wanted it to go over to the 3 computer account that I had.  Took me a while to find a way to chat with a technician….their website doesn’t make it easy to find that.  But anyway…after I did find it….the technician understood what I wanted right way(usually they ask you a 1000 questions)…and he had me up and working again in no time!  YAY…now I am good to go until August 2011. 

So here is my post for a picture today…since I forgot to take my camera to lunch.  Here are a couple of pictures of the house at night with all the Christmas light on.  It’s pretty simple…we don’t go hog-wild! It’s too much work! lol  Oh, and yes…that’s the leg lamp from Christmas Story(the movie).  I got that for Tony!!!

Day 350 – When Life Gives You Lemons….Make Lemon Bread!

Tony and I squeezed 70 lemons yesterday and we got 18 cups of lemon juice!  I started making lemon bread for gifts.  This is how I am wrapping them up.  If you want to make this recipe….it’s on Day 324.  Oh, and I used the Cricut cartridge PRESERVES to cut the tag…and used my Crop-a-Dile to punch a rivet on the tag to run a ribbon through.  And the little ceramic baking dish was a $1.00 at Michael’s Craft store.
